THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) LARRY KING, CNN HOST (voice-over): Tonight, want to find true love, make more money, have the life of your dreams? Then think about it. That's right. The power of your thoughts can improve your life. Sound unthinkable? Well, science says there's something to it, so engage your brain for an amazing hour that could transform your world and help you live happily ever after. It's all next on LARRY KING LIVE. (END VIDEO CLIP) KING: Welcome to the second in our series of how to go beyond the power of positive thinking and use it to change your life. Since last week's show was such a success, we decided to dive right back into the topic tonight with a different set of guests. They'll tell us how we can use the power of your imagination and mind to create what we want in our lives and how science supports it. Our guests are: James Ray, President and CEO of James Ray International, a multimillion dollar corporation dedicated to teaching individuals to create wealth in all areas of their lives. That's financially, relation wise, intellectually, physically and spiritually. Jack Canfield, the famed originator of the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series of books. It sold over 100 million copies. Jack was one of the earliest champions of peak performance. And, he's the co- author of "Dare to Win, the Power of Focus," and his latest, "The Success Principles, how to get from where you are to where you want to be." Dr. Joe Vitale is president of Hypnotic Marketing, Inc. and the founder and president of the Hypnotic Marketing Institute. Joe is also an ordained minister, a certified metaphysical practitioner and a certified hypnotherapist. Dr. George Pratt, chairman of psychology at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California and co-author of "Instant Emotional Healing." And, finally, Jayne Payne therapist, social worker and licensed chemical dependence counselor. We begin with James Ray. What is the law of attraction? JAKMES RAY, CEO, JAMES RAY INTERNATIONAL: Well, Larry, science tells us that every single thing that appears to be solid is actually energy. Your body is energy. Your car is energy, your house, everything, money, all of it is energy. You put it under a high-powered microscope it's nothing more than a field of energy and a rate of vibration and like vibrations are attracted to each other and dissimilar vibrations repel. So, the law of attraction says when you're in a certain vibration you're going to attract to you that which you're in vibration or harmonic vibration with. KING: Jack Canfield, do you accept that? JACK CANFIELD, ORIGINATOR OF "CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL" SERIES: Yes, I just basically say the law of attraction says like attracts like. So, if you want to be successful you need to come from a place of vibrating that you're successful. You need to be thinking about the successes you already have. If you want to attract more money you need to be thinking abundantly, so even though you might only be making $40,000 a year you want to be focusing on your gratitude for that coming from a state of abundance. And then what happens is you'll attract more abundance to you. If you're talking all the time about what you don't want or how bad it is, then what you're going to attract is more how bad it is. KING: Is this science, Joe? JOE VITALE, HYPNOTIC MARKETING INSTITUTE: It sure is on a fundamental level whatever you focus on you get more of. If you're focusing on lack, you're going to get more lack. If you focus on abundance, you're going to get more abundance. I tell people find something in your life right now to be grateful for because at that point you will start to attract more things to be grateful for. It's absolutely workable, testable science. KING: Can you really, Dr. Pratt, make your own happiness? I mean let's say you go downstairs and your car has just been hit. You can't be happy that minute. DR. GEORGE PRATT, SCRIPPS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL: You can't control external circumstances. All you can do is balance yourself so that if something traumatic happened we want to teach people how to balance themselves very rapidly. So, shifting it to the positive allows you to actually change your life. KING: Jayne, you deal in chemical dependency, right? JAYNE PAYNE, THERAPIST: Yes. KING: How can you do this if you're depressed? PAYNE: Well depression... KING: Bipolar. PAYNE: Bipolar, bipolar is a phenomena that has long been said it needs medication and I'm not going to argue with that. However, they have done scientific research that shows that depression is anger turned inward. And, anger usually come from unresolved issues. And so, what I like to do with someone that comes to me that's depressed, I tell them "Focus on the point of reference in your life that's positive and look at what caused that positive effect." And then they have something tangible to work with. KING: James are we always all day long attracted or not attracted to things? Is this a constant "I like that, I don't like this, I want this, I don't want that?" RAY: We are. I mean we're consistently attracting. I mean every single thing you have in your life right now you're either in resonance with it or, if it's not in your life, you're not in resonance with it. If you want to create anything you want, anything you desire, you have to practice what I call going three for three. Your thoughts, your feelings, and your actions all need to be firing simultaneously and in alignment. When you go three for three, you're absolutely unstoppable. You can create anything you want. KING: Jack, do we create our own positive negatives? CANFIELD: I do believe that. I think we're constantly creating whatever comes into our life and if you focus on what you want, as Joe said earlier, you get what you want. If you focus on what you don't want, you get more of that. And we often think we're focusing on something like saying "I don't want to be overweight anymore." But what we're focusing on is overweight anymore. So, we have to state it in a more positive way. And when we do that what happens is our mind and our emotions follow our thoughts and then our behaviors follow our emotions. I choose to make myself happy. Abraham Lincoln said back in 1865 happiness is a choice and the fact is it really is. KING: True, Joe, if your house burns down it's how you react to your house burning down? VITALE: No, I'm going to disagree with a couple of the things said here. KING: Good. VITALE: Oh, you like this. Well, I'm going to disagree because I believe that you are attracting everything, every little thing, the car accident, everything that you could name but we're doing it on an unconscious level. We're not aware of it. KING: I attracted my own car accident? VITALE: You absolutely did. We are attracting everything unconsciously. That's why we have to read the books, like Jack's books or Jayne's books or my books so that we can begin to wake up. We can begin to take conscious control of what we've been doing unconsciously. At this point, we want to start looking at why did I attract it? Yes, you can put a positive spin on why you attracted it but I'm saying you did attract it. KING: What, Dr. Pratt, is the law of vibration? PRATT: The law of vibration is -- reflects a certain harmony or being in sync with something. You've heard of that phrase, "You're on my frequency." Everything has a frequency and, if we go to super string theory, everything is little vibrating packets of energy. So, we have a frequency. KING: Let me get a break. Up next, you can't get what you want in life until you know what you want in life. We've got some simple advice that can help you put together your personal wish list when LARRY KING LIVE continues. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) RAY: The universe states, there's a law in your universe that says the more you give the more you get or receive. This is true in your finances, no or yes? I really wasn't a great student in school. I was one of those individuals who always wanted to get out and do something. Let me tell you something about real wealth. We're going to discuss that a lot this evening because I can guarantee you this. You might go after the money and get rich. It doesn't mean you're going to be wealthy. I got hit head on by a car in the late '90s and it just totally changed my life, late '80s I should say. It just totally changed my life because I had to step back and realize that, you know, the physical body could be taken out in an instant. And so I started looking at things a lot differently. It was a real significant emotional event for me. Your one purpose on this planet, one purpose on this planet, is to grow. That's it. There's never been a time in my life where I didn't feel like the most important thing was to understand the laws of the universe and how things worked and how they applied to body, mind, and spirit. You see I've been talking about quantum physics for over a decade and most people in the audience have drool running. They're like what? And now, now people are opening their minds. And what I realize is that no matter where you are in life challenges are a part of life and to think otherwise is illusion. It really is. You know we always have challenges in life and the bigger the game you play, the bigger the challenges. (END VIDEO CLIP) (COMMERCIAL BREAK) (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) RAY: Every great tradition has told you that you were created in the image and the likeness of the creative source. That means that you have got potential and power to create your world and you are. You are. And maybe you've created things to this point that are wonderful and worthy of you and maybe you haven't. (END VIDEO CLIP) KING: Jayne Payne, are you agreeing with what's been said so far? PAYNE: Yes. One of the interesting things I found working with clients that come to me, usually I get clients that aren't manifesting what they want in their life. That's why they're seeing me. And one of the things I look at is they're operating out of unresolved issues, particularly of abandonment. And so once I work through the grief process of those issues, what I find is a lot of people the reason they're not attracting what they want in their life is they're operating out of need. If they'd operate out of want and desire, then they would get what they want. So, I talk about and I have them focus a lot of desire, belief, and then expect it to happen. KING: Jack Canfield, how do we find out what we want in life? That may sound ridiculous but a lot of people probably don't know. CANFIELD: Well, there are a number of ways but one of the ways that I like to start with my clients is what I call create an irritation list. Go through your house, your apartment, your office, your garage, list down everything that isn't exactly the way you want it and that tells you what you're not satisfied with. Now you take it from that level to what she was just talking about and turn it into the vision of what you would like to have. I want that door to close without it slamming. I want the picture not to do this. I want it to be straight, you know. I want my people in my office to be positive. KING: Some people might take a month with an irritation list. CANFIELD: Well, you know, usually about two hours you can get it done. Then you go through and you create the opposite so you know what you want. And then what you have to do is schedule time to go ahead and do it. Like I say if you take a weekend and just handle all the little things and why is this important? Most of us are talking about our big vision, our big goals, world peace, things like that, becoming a millionaire. But, if you don't handle the little irritations and you settle for them what happens is you go into subtle resignation, "I can't have what I want" and you have to numb out your awareness to see it. And then you numb out that little kid inside that says "Wow, I can have everything." KING: Joe, how do you clear out negative self talk? VITALE: One of my favorites is to become a loving detective of your own mental activity. So, in other words, thoughts are going through our brains right now. They're going through yours. They're going through mine. They're going through your listeners, the watchers, all of this. Some are positive. Some are negative. What you want to do is start to notice which ones are the ones that make you feel good and you want to reach for the thoughts that feel good. You start to go in the direction of having more of those. And, going back to my earlier statement fundamental law and psychology you get more of whatever you focus on. Focus on the positive thoughts and those negative ones are going to start to drop away or you won't pay attention to them as much. KING: In a moment, we'll take a question from the audience. But, James, what are the five areas you focus on? RAY: I've coined something I call harmonic wealth and harmonic wealth has five key pillars, financial, relational, intellectual, physical, and spiritual. You see I talk to people all the time who have one, two, maybe three of those and they still feel unfulfilled. A true state of wealth is a state of harmonic wealth and when you're there you're really, really wealthy. KING: Let's take a question from members of our studio audience who are with us today. Let's go to C.J. Minster (ph) -- C.J. UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Thank you. In light of the general inflexibility in the U.S. workforce how is it possible to plan for a family while planning your career path? KING: Who wants to grab that? CANFIELD: Well I think the underlying assumption is what we call either/or. I can either have this family or I can have work. And, if you take the position you can have both and make that your goal, make that your vision, start visualizing that that's what you want, believing you can have it, creating the vibration of what it would be like imagining having a perfect integrated life of fulfillment at work and fulfillment at home. And, if you do that, then what will happen is your unconscious will begin to come up with the ideas, the ways to create that. You'll attract to you the work opportunities, the resources, the right boss, whatever it is to do that. So the main thing is the assumption is wrong. KING: Do all of you agree with the concept of visualization? CANFIELD: Yes. VITALE: Absolutely. That's a powerful thing. CANFIELD: The mind thinks in pictures. VITALE: I would add to it though, I don't think visualization by itself is quite enough that a lot of people are using mental imagery and they are getting some results, not always the results that they want, not always as fast as they want. I have written about this. I have said that you have to add feeling to it. So, in other words, when you're visualizing that you're in this new car or in your Maui home or whatever it happens to be, you don't just see the picture of it and you don't see just you in the picture. You see yourself experiencing it as if it's right now. You feel it. You see it. You live it. When you do that you accelerate the manifestation process. You go way beyond positive thinking. KING: What's a positive affirmation, Jayne. PAYNE: A positive affirmation is something that you usually tell yourself every day and I usually do it visually with my clients. I have them do poster boards and I have them map out where they want to go. And I have them actually physically cut out pictures and I put them on the board, have them put them on the board and they look at them daily and they affirm to themselves daily. "This is what I want. This is where I'm going to go." And then I have them take it a step further. I have them take it to where what will it feel like when you get there? CANFIELD: Kids do this naturally. My son when he wanted a surfboard all of a sudden his whole wall was covered with surfboard pictures. VITALE: Yes. Yes. CANFIELD: They naturally do this. And then somehow we get talked out of it as we grow up as adults and we stop doing it. PRATT: Besides adding the emotion which is so important to add all five sensory channels is extremely powerful. We know this from the Soviet studies on enhanced performance. The brain can't really tell the difference between a real event and a highly-imaged experience. KING: Coming up -- let me get a break and we'll be right back. Unlucky in love, our panel has some great advice on how to trade Mr. Wrong for Mr. Right or Ms. Wrong for Ms. Right when LARRY KING LIVE continues. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) CANFIELD: Events plus responses equal outcomes and if you don't get the outcomes you want it's because you haven't responded correctly to the events that have occurred up until that time. My mom and my dad got divorced when I was six and so I settled in Wheeling, West Virginia, grew up in a kind of a normal lower middle class life. Then you have to be willing to ask yourself, "What am I willing to sacrifice in terms of time, effort, resources, money, et cetera, in order to achieve those goals?" And it was in Chicago that I met this man named W. Clement Stone, who was a self-made multi-millionaire and he was worth $600 million and he took me under his wing and basically said to me, "If you'll teach these success principles to others, I'll teach them to you." And that's really what I see, the kind of work I do which is we remove the block so the natural essence of who you are comes forward without effort. In fact, it gets easier. Yes, I think one of the key principles of success is never give up. You have to persevere, called consistent persistence, and the best example would be "Chicken Soup for the Soul." When we went to sell that book we were rejected by every major publisher in New York, all 22 of the big ones. And the key there is that over 14 months of rejections from the time we started in New York until we finally got a publisher and the message is never give up on your dreams because if we'd stopped after 100 and said "Well obviously this isn't supposed to happen," I wouldn't be sitting here today. And what I found in life is if you ask people to support you, nine times out of ten they will. (END VIDEO CLIP) (COMMERCIAL BREAK) (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) I live in a $4.5 million mansion. I have a wife to die for. I get to vacation in all the fabulous spots of the world. I have climbed mountains. I have explored. I've been on safaris. And all of this happens and continues to happen because of knowing how to apply the secret. (END VIDEO CLIP) KING: We're back with our panel. The importance of learning to love yourself first, James, before you love anybody is that true? If you don't love yourself, you can't love anybody else? RAY: It's absolutely true, Larry. You see I travel all around the world and the whole concept of soul mate is often inherently flawed because it says that your completion or your better half resides outside yourself. Intellectually we know better than that. I mean your completion doesn't reside outside yourself. Your completion resides inside yourself. You will never, ever attract a perfect relationship with another human being into your life until you first and foremost have a perfect relationship with yourself. KING: Why, Jack, in life probably the hardest thing is maintaining a happy relationship? CANFIELD: Well because we tend to project the unexpressed parts of ourself, the unaccepted parts of ourself out onto the other person and we keep trying to get them to change so that we'll be happy. And really what the value of a relationship is, is to reflect back and mirror back to us the parts of ourself we haven't integrated love in order to express fully. So, if we learn that then we can create a great relationship so that when my wife, I, you know, "is making me angry," I really look inside and say "Well what is it about me that I'm rejecting in her that I need to clean up?" And if I can do that, then the relationship becomes a fabulous place to grow and a fabulous place for fulfillment. KING: Are you in trouble, Joe, if your emotional happiness is dependent on someone else? VITALE: Yes, absolutely. In fact, if you're trying to go beyond positive thinking, you're trying to manifest anything and you're sending out these negative energies about addiction, about obsession, about emotional need then that's what you're going to get more of and you will have a very fractured relationship that is not going to last. KING: Dr. Pratt, the importance of healing after a relationship ends before a new one starts. PRATT: Essential, people (INAUDIBLE). KING: Can't go from one to the other? PRATT: No. You need a little time to heal, to learn about yourself and understand what happened in the relationship. And, if you're having a problem with somebody unless there is some pretty other serious circumstances, there is a mirror there so those -- you have learned something about yourself in the process. KING: Why do people keep dating the same or being involved with the same kind of person that hurt him before? PAYNE: Yes, that's a good one because dealing with addictions, one of the biggest causes of relapse in addictions, by the way, is relationship issues. And, the bottom line is, is at the point of abandonment it begins a loss of our identity. And what happens is then we spend the rest of our time trying to look for that missing piece and we look for it in others. And the bottom line is it's not in others, it's in ourselves. KING: We have an audience question from Alexandra Goldman -- Alexandra. ALEXANDRA GOLDMAN: My question is how do you maintain a successful love relationship while growing as an individual when people so often grow apart? KING: James. RAY: Well, one of the things that I suggest you do is sit down with your mate and talk about where you're going and what's important to you in your relationship. Once you do that then you can take steps together to begin moving in that direction. KING: What about relationship addictions, doctor? PRATT: You can become addicted to anything. That's when you find some fulfillment or you get a release of dopamine or some other neuro chemical when you're around them. It creates a high. And that the absence of that puts you into a state of deprivation. KING: Joe, can you hypnotize yourself out of a bad relationship? VITALE: That's an interesting question. KING: Say you're in love, you're hung up and it's going nowhere and you want to get out but you can't get out. VITALE: Oh, you can always get out. Your hypnotized yourself into it actually. You know you're talking -- yes, so you absolutely did. You know I wrote this whole book, "The Attractor Factor." There's five steps on achieving whatever you want. But actually since I wrote it, I found that there's only this one step and this one step is, and I can't do it all the time, and I don't know anybody else that can do it all the time, but it cuts through the relationship. It breaks the trance. It fulfills a lot of things we need. Be happy in this moment. Be happy now. This is the point of power. Everything else is in the past or in the future. KING: Just ahead, positive thinking and your pocketbook. Find out how it can pay off financially when LARRY KING LIVE comes back. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) VITALE: When I was in Dallas, and this would have been in the late '70s, I was virtually, I was not virtually, I was homeless for a short period of time. You don't ever want to be homeless for a single day but I was for a short period of time. But throughout it all, I was always maintaining my vision, my goal, my focus. I want to be an author. I want to write books. And I would say I would owe it all to the principles that are in the movie "The Secret," the principles I talk about in my books like "The Attractor Factor," and, of course, through never giving up, never giving up the dream, the desire, the hope, that vision and constantly going forward with it. Because you are the masterpiece of your own life, you are the Michelangelo of your own life. The David that you are sculpting is you. (END VIDEO CLIP) (COMMERCIAL BREAK) (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) VITALE: Well another thing people wonder about is how long is this going to take? How long will it take to manifest the car, the relationship, the money whatever it happens to be? Well, I don't have any rule book that says it's going to take you 30 minutes or three days or 30 days. I think it's more a matter of you being in alignment with the universe itself. (END VIDEO CLIP) KING: We're back on this very special edition of beyond the power of positive thinking. Our guests are James Ray, president and CEO of James Ray International; Jack Canfield, the famed originator of the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series; Dr. Joe Vitale, president of the Hypnotic Marketing, Incorporated organization and founder and president of the Hypnotic Marketing Institute; Dr. George Pratt is chairman of psychology at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California; and Jayne Payne is a therapist, social worker and a licensed chemical dependent counselor. We're going to talk about money in this segment. James, what's -- explain the power of partnerships. RAY: Well, I made a decision several years ago, over a decade ago, that really changed my life. I made a decision I wasn't going to spend high quantity time with people I didn't want to be. KING: This is in the financial area we're discussing. RAY: Yes. Financially or anyway -- in any area, actually. You know, because I looked around at the people I was hanging out with, and they weren't going the same places I was going, they weren't doing the same things I was doing, they weren't thinking the way I was thinking. So they were holding me back. So I made a decision to start spending more time with people that were like-minded and moving in the direction I was going. KING: Jack, explain the time management system. CANFIELD: Well, basically the system is divided into three parts. You divide your days into three kind of days. Focus days, free days and buffer days. And a focus day is 85 percent of your time is focused on the 20 percent of your life that produces 80 percent of the results. So each of us has something that we do naturally that we would call our core genius. For me it's teaching, speaking, writing, et cetera. The second kind of day is a free day. It's midnight to midnight with no work related activity. And by that definition, there are some people who haven't had a free day in three years. And what we now know from the studies is the people that take more free days actually end up making more money, because when they're off, that's when the creative ideas come forward, the inspirations for new products, new ideas, new services, new ways to be in the world. And the third kind of day is a buffer day. And that's when you are doing the things like delegating, preparation. You have to go out there and run around and do your laundry and get all that stuff done. But the point is, that we do have to have those days. So the key is, you want to have more focus days, more free days and less buffer days. And you want to have your schedule determine what kind of day it is, so you're not just responding to people, you're intentional. KING: Joe, how do we increase the speed of attaining financial career goals? VITALE: I think it is a couple of things. One of them is focussing on what you want, being very clear on the amount of money, making sure it's a stretch, but it's still believable. Another thing is to visualize it with feeling, making sure that that feeling element is there. And the third is to be taking action, and make sure that you're acting on the ideas. Because when your stated intention is that you want to have so much money, and start to take action for it, you will start to go in that direction. You'll start to have ideas, but your bargain is you have to act on those ideas or nothing will get done. KING: Doctor, is a personal coach a good idea? PRATT: I think we all need coaching. And I think we can all benefit from learning in new ways. I know that when you're thinking about coaching or using others as resources, even in the financial area, new ideas can present some very interesting opportunities. KING: Go ahead. I want to get an audience question, but go ahead, Joe. VITALE: OK, I just wanted to -- you asked about coaching. I want to point out how important it is to have a coach, because most of us are thinking within this little ball and nest of beliefs. We don't know what the beliefs are because they are what we think all the time. Somebody else, a coach on the outside can listen to you and feedback to you what your own thoughts are. KING: An objective. VITALE: Objective person, yes. KING: We have a question in the audience from Rob Christie (ph) -- Rob. QUESTION: Hi. Thank you, everybody. I'm a single man with a single income, and I love my job. I love what I do. But it puts me at a certain financial level, and are there any actual steps that you can recommend to help me obtain my goal of buying a house and, more importantly, buying a house where I want to live, which is at the beach? KING: James, is he thinking out of bounds? RAY: Well, you know, it really depends. You've got to get really clear. If that house is what you want, then you've got to, again, think, feel and act as if you are going to get that house. You've got to take the action. You know, I've worked with several individuals who couldn't come up with the money for the down payment, but they went ahead and took the action towards it, and by and large, they attracted $100,000, $20,000 here, $10,000 here from their friends and family. And they bought the home. So you've got to take that action. You've got to move forward, thinking, feeling, acting and knowing that you can do that. And you can make it happen. You really can. CANFIELD: My mentor was a man named W. Clement Stone, who worth $600 million when I worked for him. And he taught me this principle. And I was a teacher in Chicago making $8,000 a year. And I took a course with him. And he said I want you to set a goal that's so big that if you achieve it, you'll know it's because of what I'm teaching you. So I set a goal to make $100,000 in one year. Now, you know, they don't pay you more to become a good teacher. So I had no idea how I was going to do that, but I visualized it, I had an affirmation, I felt the feelings, I saw myself living in this $100,000 lifestyle. And to make a long story short, what happened was I started getting ideas. I would be in the shower and this inspiration would come, hey, you have a book. It gets 25 cents royalty every time it gets sold. If you sell 400,000 copies of that book, you'd make $100,000. Now, I didn't know how to do that. My publisher didn't know how to do that. But I started visualizing 400,000 book copies sold. And what changed it was my wife said one day that if we were a bookstore, we would make three dollars a book, then we'd only have to sell 33,000 copies. And by the end of the year we had a mail-order bookstore with 32 different books and tapes and we made $92,328. And I was still a teacher making $8,000, which gives me what? A $100,000 a year income. VITALE: Get the house. KING: We'll take a break and be back with more. Still to come, the keys to using emotional awareness to control your physical health. Don't go away. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) PAYNE: Relationship addictions are a loss of one's self that occurs when abandonment occurs. And what happens at the point of abandonment, when we're given messages, because we are sexual beings, we're given messages that say, you're not OK as a girl, you're not OK as a boy. And we grow up feeling that we're not OK as sexual beings, so what we do is we try to get those two parts to come together by getting into constant relationships over and over and over again. And so when those don't work, we eventually end up finally grieving the loss of the abandonment and we stop abandoning ourselves. (END VIDEO CLIP) (COMMERCIAL BREAK) RAY: How can you ever expect anyone else to enjoy your company if you don't enjoy your own company? And so, again, the Law of Attraction, or the secret is about bringing that into your life. And you've got to get really, really clear. Here's a question I want to ask you to consider. Do you treat yourself the way that you want other people to treat you? (END VIDEO CLIP) KING: We're back. Jayne Payne, how do we change habits? PAYNE: One of the ways to change habits is first become aware you have one. And that's where the outside coaching comes in. And usually people that have habits that are not working for them in their lives will end up in some form of therapy or end up in some kind abusive relationships or getting negative responses. KING: This panel is not against therapy, is it? UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Not at all. UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Not at all. I think works. PAYNE: It works together... KING: How do you cure an addiction, George? PRATT: Well, you get to the source of it. You support. You change your thinking. You make decisions, you write goals, you go to some kind of 12 step group and you apply the self-calming techniques that are available in a number of resources. KING: Jayne, explain your intensive grief weekends. PAYNE: OK. The grief weekends are a weekend where people come and they go down to the very core issue, the very bottom line of why they aren't accomplishing what they want to accomplish in life. And we work through it, through the grieving process. And at the end, we have a funeral. We bury it. And therefore it is no more. And I always get to the point where we talk at the end, if you go within, you never go without. KING: Are you saying you can think good health? RAY: You can. You can. You can just as easily think good health as you can think poor health. You've to give your attention to something, Larry. So energy flows where attention goes. If you get up every single morning and you are giving all your attention to how overweight, out of shape and broke you are, then energy is going to flow in that direction. KING: Yes, but you can't outthink cancer. RAY: Well, there is a lot of documented cases where there has been complete remission, complete turnaround. You know, cancer is a process. And your body turns over. We know that in the medical profession, that your body turns over every seven years or less, every cell, every bone, everything. So when you're diagnosed with a cancer, it is a process of cancering yourself. When you stop that process, you can reverse it. And there is plenty of documented cases. KING: You work with dolphins? PRATT: Yes. I do seminars in Hawaii. And that includes swimming with dolphins. KING: What do you do? PRATT: Well, it is a heck of a lot of fun to begin with. So it is helpful for our own neurochemicals. But an interesting study came out in a British medical journal last fall that in the clinical trials, swimming with dolphins one hour a day for 10 days helped to reset mild to moderate depression, interestingly. And I also want to say one thing about what you were saying that ties into the dolphins, and that is I want people to -- in the prevention process, to be going through a gratitude list in the shower, 10 things in the morning, to make sure they get at least three laughs during the day, to do some deep breathing and seeing whatever they want to have happen for two minutes a day. KING: So is there any area of life this doesn't work? VITALE: What a great question. KING: That's why I asked it. VITALE: I'm glad you did. I'm glad you did. You know, I don't know that there are any limits whatsoever. I keep finding out that what we think is a limit doesn't become a limit. Once we start addressing it, we set a goal to go past it. I mean, it is the old four-minute mile, it's about going to the moon, it's about, you know, Larry, I was homeless at one point. I was in poverty for the longest time. I'm now a bit of an Internet celebrity. I have got more books than I can remember that are out there, most of which are best- sellers. Last week, I bought myself one of 300 hand-made luxury sports cars, a Panoz Esperante, and I'm a guy who was homeless 30 some years ago, paying cash for a luxury car. You can change your life and you can dissolve anything that you think is your limit. Thirty years ago, I would have said, no, I can't get a -- what is a sports car? KING: Jayne, you put any limit on anything? PAYNE: No. There are no limits. Our unconscious mind doesn't know anything is not possible. And if you tap into that... GANFIELD: Let me tell you a really interesting story. This guy named Cliff Young shows up at a race in Australia, 61 years old, he's wearing Oshkosh overalls, a t-shirt, baseball cap, construction boots and galoshes. And it's a six-day run from Sydney to Melbourne, 650 kilometers. All the young guys who are there, these elite runners, and they think this guy is crazy, he can't possibly do this. So they all take off and they're all running really fast, and Cliff is kind of doing this what they call the Cliff Young shuffle. And the thing he didn't know, because he had never read a book on racing, he'd never talked to a runner, he just read what was in the paper and wanted to go do it, is that on these long runs, you're supposed to run for 18 hours, sleep for six. So that night when everyone went to sleep, he was so far behind, no one told him to go to bed. He ran right by everybody and ran nonstop for five and a half days, Larry, and broke the record of that race by 12 hours. And he came back the next year, everyone was doing the Cliff Young shuffle, and there were 70 people in the race and they all broke records. But he came in number 12 out of 70. So he didn't know there was a limit. He didn't know you were supposed to do that. And we're all controlled by what we have been told is possible instead of told as children, anything is possible. KING: So the old axiom, mind over matter, works? GANFIELD: Indeed. KING: When we come back, we'll talk about some of the key steps that can help you find success. We'll be right back. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) PRATT: It has been very interesting over the years. I started in practice, always trying to help people be their best, and that wasn't always the case with psychology in general. Some people were more oriented in different directions. But mine was a more positive approach, which is now popular. And I will tell you that even though my seminars that I do where we do end up swimming with dolphins in the wild -- we don't bother them, we let them swim by us if they want to -- is what happens to people after the seminar, combination of education and then being in the energetic field with the dolphins, it's pretty phenomenal. People are -- they're strengthened, they're empowered, and they feel like they can do what they need to do. And whether you think you can do something or you can't, you're right. So you might as well focus on the positive. (END VIDEO CLIP) (COMMERCIAL BREAK) (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) GANFIELD: Decide what you want. Believe you can have it. Believe you deserve it. Believe it is possible for you. And then close your eyes every day for several minutes and visualize having what you already want and feeling the feelings of already having it. Come out of that, and focus on what you're grateful for already. And really be -- enjoy it, OK? And then go into your day and release it to the universe, and trust that the universe will figure out how to manifest it. (END VIDEO CLIP) KING: James Ray, you say gratitude is the most powerful force. Does it work? RAY: It really is. Well, energy flows where attention goes. If you have a relationship, a romantic relationship, and you're grateful and you love him or her, you give them attention, right? If you have children and you love them, you give them attention. Attention equals love. KING: Why aren't we grateful? RAY: Most people are in love with their misery, because they're attending to it all the time. It's like a roaring bonfire and they're throwing another log on it every day. KING: Jack, what... GANFIELD: Focus on what you're grateful for. What it focuses you on is what you want more in your life. The reason you're grateful is it makes you happy. You're feeling good about it. So by focusing your gratitude on that, as you were saying every morning, you know, go through a gratitude list -- I spend seven minutes every morning writing down what I'm grateful for. KING: Joe, what is the danger of feeling desperate? VITALE: You're going to attract more desperation. The energy that you send out is the attractor. This is from my book, "The Attractor Factor." It's got to pull back whatever it is that you're feeling. You're going to get more of it. So if you're feeling desperate, the only thing that you're going to notice, the only thing that you're going to attract are more feelings, thoughts and situations that will make you feel desperate. KING: Perseverance is very important, right, doc? PRATT: Perseverance, persistence, developing new habits. KING: And that can be taught. PRATT: It can be taught and it can be practiced. And the more you practice it, the better you get. KING: We have another question from our audience, from Elizabeth Decosta (ph). Elizabeth. UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Hi, guys. So I've been working the principles and staying positive and all of that. My question is, how do you politely address those around you, whether they're friends or family, who don't support you or are not on the same path and -- well, actually turn down your goals, your dreams and your aspirations? Are you supposed to, like, remove them from your circle, or how do you... KING: Great question. I will go to Jayne first and then... PAYNE: The thing that I've found with working with this for many years is once you begin to have that attraction in your life, and once you begin to put that into motion and it begins to happen for you, an amazing thing happens. These things just kind of fall away from your life, because you're no long attracting them. So they kind of resolve themselves. They will just eventually dissipate because you're attracting something new into your life. And when we eliminate something out of our life, we replace it with something else. KING: James? RAY: The things we're talking about here, your peer group will change. When you choose to pursue your greatness, you'll represent the courage, in many cases, that other people don't have. And so you've got to be prepared for that. But it will, as Jayne said, take care of itself. It doesn't mean they're not good people. They're wonderful people, as I believe all people are, but they're not going in the same direction you are. And so -- you still love them, but I would recommend you don't spend high quantity time with people who aren't in the same mindset. KING: Jack, what's the importance of responding to feedback? CANFIELD: Well, basically, I teach that the way to improve is to solicit and respond to feedback. So I teach a question that my wife and I use once a week, and that I teach other people to use. On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate the quality of our relationship, or how would you rate the quality of this show or this product or service we have? Anything less than ten gets a follow-up question: what would it take to make it a ten? So one time I did this with my wife and she said six. And I said, wow what would it take to make it a ten? She said don't interrupt me when I'm telling a joke because you think you can tell a punchline better. She said your job is to put the kids to bed. I don't care if it is the NBA playoffs, I don't want to have to remind you. You don't remind me to get them up in the morning. She went on with about five or six other things. But now I have five ways I can improve my relationship. Most people don't ask for feedback because they are afraid of what they're going to hear. KING: What if you disagree? CANFIELD: You don't have to agree. You don't have to do it. But at least I know what, in her perception, would allow the relationship to go forward. And here's the other thing. Most people don't ask and the reason is they're afraid to hear it. I say, look, if you don't ask your wife or your children or whatever, they've already -- your wife's already told her mother, her girlfriend, the people at work, the people at the supermarket, the people in the hair salon. You're the only one who doesn't know. KING: Coming up in our final segment, how to make the start of your day the start of a new life. Don't go away. DR. SANJAY GUPTA, CNN MEDICAL CORRESPONDENT: Hello. I'm Dr. Sanjay Gupta. (COMMERCIAL BREAK) KING: We're back. I want to get some questions in from the audience and wind up from each of our panelists. Jocelyn McCarthy (ph). QUESTION: Yes. Hi, thank you. My question is how do you manage personal, professional and spiritual life in this demanding society? RAY: That's harmonic wealth. It really is. You know, I think you -- I think that presupposes that you can't do that. You absolutely can. You absolutely can. You need to make a decision you can. You need to sit down. I would encourage you to sit down right now and make a list of the five key areas of life, financial, relational, intellectual, physical, spiritual and what exactly you want to create and attract in each of those areas. And then keep your attention on that, regardless of what's going on around you and you'll begin to create it. KING: And one more from Ron Drescher (ph) and then a follow-up with each of our panelists -- Ron. QUESTION: All right. Thank you. I want to be more happy, spiritual and at peace in my life. How do I get started? KING: Joe? VITALE: Find things to be grateful for right now. Right in this moment. The fact that you can ask this question, the fact that you are alive, the fact that you're breathing, the fact that you're living wherever you're living. Find a reason to be grateful, much like you mentioned earlier, with a tear in your eye because it is so genuine for you. Out of that gratitude you will find more things to be grateful for. And out of that gratitude you will find happiness right now. KING: Jack, explain give more to get more. CANFIELD: Well, basically, the universe responds. If you give, it comes back to you. We've been talking about giving out vibrations. The vibrations come back. The same is true with money. If I give more money, more money tends to come back in my life. Every time, Larry, that I've gone and done some kind of volunteer work, something's happened out of that experience where I've met somebody, maybe a bank president, who then hires me to come speak to his company. It always comes back. So basically, people that are successful -- I mean, you had Donald Trump and Kiyosaki on your program not so long ago. And they're two of the biggest givers I know. And so by giving, they get more back. And I think that it's true for all of us. So givers get. KING: Dr. Pratt, how do you start a new day to start a new life? PRATT: Well, I like the gratitude list in the morning. And then doing the two minutes of imagery of the different elements that you want. If you want to change something in your life, make that part of the end result imagery, in terms of balance, spiritually, mentally, physically, et cetera. Make that part of that two-minute imagery, so that you can come back to it, so you're mindful during the day, you're aware of it. And so your attention is continuing to be focussed on it. KING: Jayne, isn't change the hardest thing? PAYNE: Actually... KING: The thing we fear the most. PAYNE: ... it's the thing that's feared the most. However, change within itself will happen automatically whether we want it or not. Change goes on every day. It's how we react to the change in our life that determines what the outcome will be. KING: James, how about world problems and the effect on daily life? You look at an Iraq or you look at hurricanes, North Korea setting off a bomb. RAY: Right. KING: It's easy to say, I'm not too sure about tomorrow. RAY: It is. I mean, we have a nation in fear. We have a world in fear because we're bombarded all the time with the things that are going on that appear to be so heinous. But here's the thing, we live in a dualistic world. The law of polarity says if there's an up, there's a down, if there's an in, there's an out. What that means is if you're in a really challenging situation in your life right now, there's something there that's really amazing about it as well. But you're not putting your attention upon it. See, when you shift your attention, you being to think about it. During the difficult times in our life, Larry, we learn and grow the most through challenges. Don't wish for an easier life. We wish for greater capability to ease elegantly through life. KING: Only have a minute or so left. Do you have bad days, Jack? CANFIELD: I don't have bad days. I can't say I never had... KING: You don't have bad days? CANFIELD: No. KIND: You have bad days, Joe? VITALE: Occasionally I have bumps in the road, but I certainly get through them much faster than I used to. KING: Jayne? PAYNE: I don't have bad days anymore. KING: Doctor? PRATT: Quick recovery with the new techniques. KING: James? RAY: I don't have bad days. I have challenges, but challenges are a part of life. KING: James Ray, Jack Canfield, Dr. Joe Vitale -- George Pratt, Joe Vitale, rather. Dr. George Pratt and Jayne Payne on "Beyond the Power of Positive Thinking." We hope you found this show illuminating. We'd love to hear your comments about it. We thank you for joining us. "AC 360" with Anderson Cooper is next. Good night.

Positive thoughts can transform can attract the good things you know you want. Sound far-fetched? Think again. It's supported by science.
Ahead, an hour that can change the way you think about the world and alter your life forever. It's next on LARRY KING LIVE.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
KING: Good evening.
A special edition of LARRY KING LIVE tonight; we're calling the program beyond the power of positive thinking, how to change your life, how to use the power of your imagination, and mine, to create what you want in your life.
Our guests can help you do that. They are Bob Proctor, who went from high school dropout to best-selling author. He spent the last 40 years coaching individuals on how to attain their life ambitions.
John Assaraf, as a teenager John risked the potentially fatal consequences of a turbulent lifestyle which could have easily landed him in jail or the morgue. But today, he's written a "New York Times" best-selling book and built four multimillion dollar companies.
Michael Beckwith, founder and spiritual director of the Agape International Spiritual Center, which celebrates its 20 anniversary this fall.
John DeMartini, the founder of the DeMartini Foundation and the Concourse of Wisdom School, one of the world's largest personal and professional development organizations.
And, JZ Knight, the (INAUDIBLE) member of our group is CEO of JZ K. Inc. and author of her autobiography "A State of Mind."
We'll start with Mr. Proctor. We're calling the show the power of positive thinking. Define that for me.
BOB PROCTOR, BEST-SELLING AUTHOR: Well, there is power to positive thinking if you internalize it. I think there's a lot of misunderstanding on it. People they think if they just think positive the world's going to change.
It's not going to change. What they're going to do is heighten their frustration because they're looking for change and it doesn't happen. We think on our conscious mind, on a conscious level. It's our educated mind but it's the subconscious mind that's controlling the vibration we're in, controlling the results we're getting.
So, if the positive thinking is going to change our life, we've got to internalize those positive thoughts, not the easiest thing to do but you can do it.
KING: How do you harness that, John Assaraf?
JOHN ASSARAF, CO-FOUNDER, ONECOACH: I think you've got to make a decision, Larry, you know. We've got two choices to make with whatever the situation is. Number one, it could be negative or it could be positive. Our choice is what makes the biggest difference in all of the equation is making the choice to look at something positively, even though the negative side is there. I think that's what we have to do.
KING: Michael Beckwith, was Dr. Norman Vincent Peale's famous book, "The Power of Positive Thinking," was that too pedestrian?
REV. MICHAEL BECKWITH, FOUNDER, AGAPE INTERNATIONAL SPIRITUAL CENTER: Well, I didn't read that for a number of years. I entered into this way of teaching because I had a spiritual awakening and began to see that we were surrounded by a presence, an energy, a life force, call it God, call it the divine energy.
KING: He called it God, right?
BECKWITH: Yes. And that through that immersion into that awareness I began to see that, yes, there is power in your thinking but it's not positive thinking. You know you could be positive that you're broke. You can be positive that you're rich.
So it's really, I call it affirmative thinking, having an affirmative realization that the nature of the universe is good and when you surrender to it, when you align yourself with it, when you embody, as Bob Proctor was talking about, as you internalize it, then your life begins to change.
KING: You're saying, John DeMartini that this is doable?
JOHN DEMARTINI, FOUNDER, DEMARTINI FOUNDATION: Not only is it doable but we do it every day because what happens is the quality of our life is based on the quality of the questions we ask and it's not what happens to us on the outside. It's how we ask questions and filter it and perceive it on the inside.
And so, we have an event and we ask how is that event that we think is so terrible, how does it serve us and how does it help us fulfill what is really most important to our life? Then what happens is we transform through the perception of that action into an opportunity that we can now use as a resource for our life. KING: Where do you learn this, Ms. Knight?
JZ KNIGHT, RAMTHA'S SCHOOL OF ENLIGHTENMENT: I don't subscribe to positive thinking because that would suggest that we're all negative and the connotation of negative is that we're all bad. And it's difficult enough to survive in the world and have self-esteem without thinking that you have to think positive because you're already bad.
KING: What do you call it?
KNIGHT: I call it being wonderful.
KING: What's the law of attraction, Bob?
PROCTOR: The law of attraction is based on the law of vibration. The whole universe operates by laws. Dr. Werhner von Braun said that the laws are so precise that we don't have any difficult building spaceships, sending people to the moon and you can time the landing with the precision of a fraction of a second. But, attraction and vibration are hooked together. The vibration we're in is determined by the ideas that you're emotionally involved with.
KING: And how do you grab that, Michael?
BECKWITH: You need to have a vision for your life. Most of the time people are concentrating on what they don't want to happen. They can articulate it very well. "I hope this never happens to me." And when you ask the average person they don't know exactly what they want. They cannot describe a reality they want to live in.
Now when you begin to describe it and begin to generate those kind of feelings that you're already living in it, the universe will compel you into right action. You'll begin to do things differently.
KING: Dr. DeMartini, does this apply to the law of physics? Are we talking about something that you could look it up in a book?
DEMARTINI: Yes, actually, because what happens just like in the law of life and the law of physics, just like a magnet has two sides and if you try to get rid of one side of the magnet, the negative side, it keeps following you. You always have two sides. So, you have to be able to take both sides and use them to your advantage.
KING: JZ if the day is cloudy or rainy and we're bothered by that we're determining to be bothered by that right?
KNIGHT: Absolutely. Absolutely.
KING: We're making it. If rain ain't doing it, we're doing it.
KNIGHT: We're doing it. We are creating the nature of our reality by what we choose, how we choose to think about our life and the outside world.
KING: Coming up, wouldn't you like to be excited about your day when you wake up instead of being stressed? Find out how to make it possible next.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BECKWITH: And from the very being, the nature of your being, you must say "So what?" That's the strongest affirmation that you'll ever hear.
When I was quite young attending college there were two things going on simultaneously. One, I was having a spiritual breakthrough, a spiritual opening while, at the same time, I was ending a career in selling marijuana.
The real miracle of living is when you're no longer intoxicated by praise or depressed by un-appreciation.
And, I just started crying. I just started sobbing and I turned my life over to God, surrendered my life to the universe, surrendered my life to love, to be an instrument to bring about love and harmony and peace, however the presence wanted to use me. My life would be dedicated to that for the rest of my life.
And if you begin to open up through your affirmation so what! You'll begin to move into the consciousness of what's so. So what contains the what so.
There's a dimension of us that has never been hurt, harmed, or endangered in any way and with intention, with practice, with love, prayer, meditation, you can uncover that dimension of your life that has no beginning and has no end and let it shine in this incarnation.
What is so? God has always loved you. What is so? Wholeness is inside of your being. What is so? Infinite supply surrounds you. What is so? It doesn't matter who's in the White House. Who's in your house? Who's in your house? Who's in your house?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
KING: We're back with this extraordinary panel and we're learning how to make things better in our lives. We can't do better than that for you.
Michael Beckwith, what are some simple steps a person can do to change his or her own life?
BECKWITH: Well, first of all, when we think about what reality is, we think about this unified field of awareness that's everywhere that's operating for us. So, what an individual has to do they have to begin to have an inner talk of uplift, men of inspiration of affirmation, begin to agree with themselves that it can be better.
KING: Every day?
BECKWITH: Every single day. It has to be a practice until that practice becomes a way of life. KING: What do you do though, John Assaraf, about bad events, I mean terrible events, your house burns down?
ASSARAF: Yes. Everything that happens to us we have a choice again of making a decision how we perceive that and how we react to that. And we can have our house burning right in front of us and things could be devastating in front of us but our decision to interpret that is what makes the entire difference and we always have that choice.
KING: That seems, Bob, like a hard thing to learn.
PROCTOR: It is a hard thing to learn. And, I was thinking as John was talking about it, I was taking my mind back to when I was always focused on what was wrong, the bad circumstances they dominated my thinking. It took a long time to change it.
I had Earl Nightingale's record. I played it over and over and over again.
KING: (INAUDIBLE).
PROCTOR: Earl is a good friend. I worked with Earl for five years in Chicago. But it was the repetition of listening to that that changed it. That's how it was programmed in the first place. That's how it can be changed.
I think that JZ was mentioning the secret. There's a movie "The Secret." If a person would keep watching it over and over again they will reprogram their mind.
KNIGHT: But also, if I may interject here, there is a beauty that rises up in us, a greater mind that rises up in it that comes to the surface that is all beauty and originality.
KING: Are you saying you don't have bad days?
KNIGHT: I have bad days if I decide to feel sorry for myself.
BECKWITH: When we begin to think in a particular way it definitely overrides and transcends those genetic...
PROCTOR: Your thoughts.
KNIGHT: Absolutely.
BECKWITH: And to grow in this way simply means that we're eliminating the filters. We're eliminating the obstructions. We're eliminating the faulty beliefs. We're not adding anything to us whatsoever. All spiritual growth and all growth towards success or progress is an elimination of that which is hindering.
ASSARAF: And we are genetically wired a certain way and 50 percent of our propensity is the way we think and behave are genetic in nature. Then we're raised by the same people who gave us their genetics. And so we get conditioned to believe and think and behave consistently day in and day out. We call it a self fulfilling doom that we get into.
And the first part is awareness. The first part is awareness that I don't have to live this way anymore. I don't have to do this anymore. I don't have to think this way anymore and become aware of it. That's number one.
Then you set a new vision for yourself and scientifically just the latest brain research suggests that it takes at least 30 days of mental reprogramming to start seeing the differentiation between your old self and the new self.
KING: John DeMartini, one of the definitions of insanity is repeating the same act expecting a different result. If that's true, first of all, half the globe is insane, right? We all have done that.
DEMARTINI: Or asleep.
KING: Can you break that?
DEMARTINI: Yes. Every human being has a set of values and through those values they filter their reality. Whatever is highest on their value they tend to bring discipline and order to and they tend to focus on them spontaneously, innately.
Whatever is lowest on their value they tend to have chaos around and disorder around. And, if they're trying to set objectives that is not really truly aligned to their highest values, they tend to self defeat because they tend to unconsciously keep creating what's really on their value system. So, when you set objectives, if you don't set them congruently and aligned with your highest values, you tend to self defeat and have negative self talk.
KING: But to change you have to want to change, right?
DEMARTINI: You have to identify and set objectives according to what's truly valuable to you, what's truly inspiring to you, or you're automatically going to have the feedback system called the negative thought I think personally.
PROCTOR: I think all you have to do is become aware that you can change. I didn't think I could change.
KING: What changed you?
PROCTOR: "Think and Grow Rich," the book and Ray Stanford, a guy that got me to read it and he convinced me that I could do better than I was doing. I think I believed in his belief in me. I didn't believe in me. But he was so adamant that I could do better and he said, "Just read the book and do what it says." And I started to read it and that's what led me into Earl's material, one thing to another and I changed.
KING: What did you, Michael, what changed you?
BECKWITH: Well, in terms of change one of my favorite statements is pain pushes you until the vision pulls you. So, you grow in two ways either through pain or through insight.
So, some people will get sick and tired of being sick and tired and begin to make that decision, begin to articulate a vision for their life, begin to walk in that direction.
Others will have insight, an ah-hah will happen to them and they'll see life in a much wider perspective and then from that wider perspective make a decision to begin to walk.
KING: Are we to blame, John, for most of the time for what happens to us?
ASSARAF: Are we to blame? Well, we can blame other people and that's the easy thing to do because we can point the finger.
KING: That rat.
ASSARAF: Yes, we can just blame everybody else. There are certain things that happen to us, Larry, that are inconvenient that we don't like and we can put blame on somebody else or ourselves. I think we've got to take full responsibility for our reality and how we approach anything that happens to us.
BECKWITH: Absolutely.
KNIGHT: I agree.
PROCTOR: I don't think we're to be blamed. We're not to be blamed for our programming but we're responsible for changing it.
BECKWITH: Absolutely. Yes, I don't like to use the word blame. No one is to blame but ignorance.
PROCTOR: That's right.
BECKWITH: Ignorance is the only thing that is to blame. And once you enter into he awareness of forgiveness releasing shame, blame, and regret, you can change your life.
KING: John DeMartini, does it require brains?
DEMARTINI: You know I think...
KING: I mean you have to be smart to do this.
DEMARTINI: I think that it requires awareness.
BECKWITH: Right.
DEMARTINI: But I think the greatest awareness occurs when we're grateful and our heart is open.
KING: Just ahead can you really wish for your soul mate and find him? Our panel knows how to make it happen. They'll share it with us next.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PROCTOR: You know when a person has no hope they are lost, absolutely lost. I was losing. I was unhappy. I was sick. I was broke. I think I was earning $4,000 a year and I owed $6,000.
For the first time I realized that I had choices. I could choose what I wanted to do. Now it was vague and I didn't have a whole lot of confidence in it but I was starting to know it.
It took me nine years to figure out what I had actually done to change but I found out something interesting. Most people that are highly successful cannot articulate on why they are.
If you don't make the hard decisions you have wasted your time coming here. You know what the decisions are. I don't know what they are for you but you know what they are.
Positive thinking is nothing if you don't internalize it and you don't internalize it once. It's through repetition
It's your life. You only get one bite at the apple. If you don't treat you right, who's going to?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
KING: OK, we'll start with John DeMartini in this. How do you find the true love of your life?
DEMARTINI: Well, I'm going to say something that's probably different than a lot of people. But I really believe that we are actually surrounded by it and it's either in one form, in one person, or we diversified it to a group of people in our lives but every single...
KING: Six soul mates?
DEMARTINI: Our soul mate. Every single thing that we're searching for we unconsciously are creating around us but sometimes if we've had extreme pain associated with a relationship with one person we diversify all the things that we like into people around us.
KING: You've lost your wife, right?
DEMARTINI: Yes, my wife passed away about just under two years ago.
KING: Now are you on a search?
DEMARTINI: Well, it's interesting. Six weeks before she passed away she held my hand and she looked me straight in the eyes and she said, "It's now time to look for another star woman, another star girl." Her name was Athena Starwoman.
And three weeks after she passed away, I ran into a lovely woman named Star in Las Vegas. She happens to be here today. And, if it wasn't for her saying that, my former wife saying that, I don't think I would have noticed it (INAUDIBLE).
KING: How do you find a soul mate, JZ?
KNIGHT: Well, a soul mate is equal to who we are, so the first thing we have to do is fall in love with ourselves. We have to like who we are. Otherwise, if we don't, we're going to get frequency specific with people in our life that...
KING: Bad choices.
KNIGHT: ...reflect back to ourselves. So, first thing fall in love with yourself. Be to you what you would love to have in another person.
BECKWITH: Absolutely.
KNIGHT: Then that person comes.
KING: Michael.
BECKWITH: What you're looking for you're looking with and so as you begin, as JZ was talking about, to really fall in love with and tap into those qualities of love and caring and generosity and kindness and appreciation you begin to radiate those kind of qualities into your life.
KING: Is it hard, John Assaraf, to get rid of the bad person in your life?
ASSARAF: Is it hard to get rid of the bad person in your life?
KING: Yes, well let's say it isn't working but you hang on.
ASSARAF: It's very, very hard. We get so accustomed to our surroundings and our environment and the relationships that we have. Anytime that that is a part of our life releasing that is very, very difficult. We don't like to change our environment. We don't like to change our environment at work. We don't like to change our environment with our relationships. It's very, very difficult. Anything that we get accustomed to having in our life is very hard to let go of.
KING: We're doing things a little differently here tonight. We do have a studio audience and we're going to take some questions. And we'll start with Lisa, are you there?
LISA: Hi. My question is how does the law of attraction apply to relationships because I can see how you could attract individual goals but it's harder to see how you could visualize a specific person that you want?
KING: Who wants to grab that, John?
PROCTOR: You shouldn't put a face on the person. See yourself with all -- with the person with all those qualities. You're going to move into that vibration and you'll attract them.
ASSARAF: I think it's important to understand, Larry, that, you know, if we go back to the premise that all we are is energy and that we will attract everything that we resonate with, so if we are focusing on what we want in the person with all the attributes and what he or she has and we believe with our whole heart and soul that that person will be found and we allow the universe to do its part while we, as JZ said, become that person filled with love and beauty that we are, we will attract that person.
KING: Michael.
BECKWITH: I think it's clear, Lisa, also we have to define what relationship is. And relationship is a joint participation in the good of life or in the good of God. So, you're not going into a relationship to get something from someone.
You're going into a relationship to be more yourself so that you're with somebody this is the individual in which you get to -- you feel comfortable being loving, giving, sharing, kind and forgiving. But if you think you're going to get something from the relationship, you're setting up a resistance there already.
KING: Why do we choose often, Bob, the wrong person?
PROCTOR: I think it goes back to what JZ said. We don't know who we are.
KNIGHT: We don't know who we are.
PROCTOR: And we're searching for something outside of ourselves so we see someone and think she's pretty. He does this, you know. And so, you know, we're looking to get something there. It's like Michael said, it's not what you get.
It really comes back, what Stanford taught me he said, "Get to know who you are." And he said, "And start to understand yourself and take control over your life. And until you do that, nothing is going to work right."
ASSARAF: It's also -- sorry, Michael. It's also a function of our self image of ourselves so we have an image, an unconscious image of who we are, what we believe we can attract, what we deserve, and we will look for that match in our life as long as we don't change the internal image in our own mind, nothing will change.
KING: When we come back, I'll reintroduce the panel.
And, what if you wish for a million bucks, will you get it? Find out when LARRY KING LIVE returns.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ASSARAF: Your past results, OK, do not, do not represent what you're capable of achieving. Well, from the age of 13 to about 19, I was involved with a group of kids that spent a lot of time on the streets. And what I really wanted to do was make money. I came from a family who had wonderful love and wonderful environment but money wasn't something that my family knew how to make and I wanted to live a better life.
And, I really took myself to educating myself about what does it really take to make money? What does it take to build a company? What does it take to have a great life? And fortunately for me when I was 19, I found some wonderful mentors who asked me some great questions.
And so if you don't believe in your -- if you really, really, really don't believe in your product or service, stop doing it. Stop telling yourself a story that you've got to do it just because I need the money. I need something to make an income.
And part of me believed them because they always told me that if you didn't go to school, if you didn't get a degree, you couldn't get a job. You couldn't take care of your family. So, there was something that was nagging at me my whole life was, you know, that's what people that I respected told me, not my parents fortunately but everybody else said that.
To win in the game of life you've got to focus on winning the game of life.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
KING: Our panel is Bob Proctor, John Assaraf, Michael Beckwith, John DeMartini, and JZ Knight. JZ, you say you treat the universe as a shopping cart and all you got to do is ask.
KNIGHT: I teach people that.
KING: Ask for $1 million and you get it?
KNIGHT: Well, what I teach people is, is that money comes as a result of ingenious thoughts, creativity, because we're born creators, and that when we create our day and we start out with our day and say, "This day I will access information about the future, technology and genius." And during that day great thoughts come that start you on a journey of creating something of value that as a consequence of that you get paid for it.
KING: Money follows.
KNIGHT: Absolutely.
KING: "Time" magazine had an article, "Does God Want you to be Rich?" For several decades a philosophy has been percolating in the 10 million strong Pentecostal wing of Christianity that seems to turn the gospels on its head. In a nutshell, it suggest that God who loves you does not want you to be broke. It's been propelled by Joel Osteen's four million selling book, "Your Best Life Now." Does he want you to be rich?
DEMARTINI: Absolutely.
BECKWITH: Absolutely.
PROCTOR: Absolutely.
KNIGHT: Absolutely.
(CROSSTALK)
ASSARAF: But most people don't understand...
KING: What does God care?
KNIGHT: But what isn't God?
KING: Why does God care if you've got $10 or $100.
KNIGHT: Isn't that small? Isn't that cheap?
ASSARAF: I think God cares because we work with business owners...
KING: Just asking.
ASSARAF: Larry, we work with business owners all over the world. That's what we do. And the first thing we tell them is, if you could figure out how to serve another human being, if you could figure out how to give them your product or your service, and figure out how to get that to the masses and serve them and do well for them, you'll be rewarded with riches. Why wouldn't God want every human being to be serve another?
PROCTOR: See, the possession of money is so ridiculously out of balance. One percent of the population has about 96 percent of all the money. We go through school, no one teaches us how to earn money. We don't learn at home. And we grow up with the idea you go to work to earn money. Working is the worst way to earn money. You should go to work for satisfaction. You provide services to earn money. You do. Wealthy people all have multiple sources of income.
BECKWITH: The way I look at it is like this. We're here to deliver our gifts, our talents and our capacities, and develop ourself to our fullest potential and express ourself. Now, the universe, the power, the presence, the love of God, whatever you want to call this presence, wants your structures stable so that God can express more through you.
KING: Another question from the audience from Kelsey -- Kelsey.
KELSEY: I love where I work. But I live within my means. However, each month I'm living seemingly paycheck to paycheck. How do I value what I earn, versus the satisfaction I get from working at a career that I'm passionate about? PROCTOR: I don't think you should mix them up. You're looking at your job as where you get your money. Your job is where you get your satisfaction. Set up different ways of serving people where you can earn money. You don't have to be there. You can earn it while you're sleeping.
ASSARAF: You also can't look at your present circumstances and allow it to control your thinking, because then you're going to create more of the same circumstances. You've got to get out of that loop and ask yourself, what I do really want to do, and then follow that.
KING: John, I came into my office today upstairs, on my door was a vision board.
ASSARAF: We saw it.
KING: It had the kids, it had the wife, it had the job, the palm trees for retirement. Forget the palm trees. OK.
And do you -- what are vision boards? I understand you have a story about this, about the visualization.
ASSARAF: I do.
Many years ago, I looked at another way to represent some of the materialistic things I wanted to achieve in my life, whether it was a car or a house or anything. And so I started cutting out pictures of things that I wanted. And I put those vision boards up. And every day for probably about just two to three minutes, I would sit in my desk and I would look at my board and I'd close my eyes. And I'd see myself having the dream car and the dream home and the money in the bank that I wanted and the money that I wanted to have for charity.
Five years later, my one son Keenan (ph) came up to my office and he sat on the boxes and said, you know, Daddy, what's in the boxes? And I said, they're my vision boards, and they've been in those boxes for five years. And so he didn't understand. So I pulled out one of the vision boards, after opening up the box, and there was a nice car and another little trinket that I wanted to buy. And when I opened up, or pulled out the second vision board, there was a picture of the home that I was living in right now, that I had been living in for a year, had renovated it, and didn't even know -- I swear to...
PROCTOR: He phoned me. He phoned me within two or three minutes of that. I saw it on the board.
ASSARAF: The house that I live in.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: We teach to do that, draw on a piece of card what it is you want to manifest, and simply look at it and be present with it. That's called creating a time trial to the future.
DEMARTINI: Our innermost dominant thought becomes our outermost tangible reality. When I was 17 years old, I almost died. I lived on the North Shore of Oahu in a tent. And I had the opportunity to meet Paul Brag (ph), who's an amazing teacher who's 93 years old. And he told me to write down my dreams -- not only for myself, but my family, my community, my city, my state, my nation, and my world -- and write it for at least 100 years. Today, all of these years, 34 years, I've been master planning my life and one of the things that I actually dreamed of doing is sitting here facing you, saying what I'm about to say. So I know that it works.
KING: If one of you have a vision board with my picture on it, I'll go to break.
Still ahead, can you make yourself healthy or just stop smoking just by thinking about it? Find out more after this break.
DEMARTINI: One day leaving this health food store, I saw a little flyer on a door, special guest -- guest speaker, Paul C. Brag, Sunset Recreation Hall, North Shore of Oahu.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DEMARTINI: The quality of your life is based on the quality of the questions you ask. And ask questions inside, pull them out of you. What do you really love to create in your life?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DEMARTINI: And that night, I don't know how to describe it, it's just something came over me and I said, I know what I want to do. I want to become like this gentleman. I want to travel the world. I want to dedicate my life to the study of universal laws, as he was talking about, and I want to become a great teacher and philosopher, and step foot in every country on the face of the earth and share my research findings with people.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DEMARTINI: Because if you don't plant the flowers in the garden of your mind, everybody, you're going to be pulling weeds out from everybody else's.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DEMARTINI: And he said to me, every single day from the rest of your life, say I am a genius and I apply my wisdom. Now here I sat there, I'm a genius, I'm thinking, there's no way I'm a genius. So I said it over and over again. And he made me say it until I had my eyes closed and my body was congruent with it. And he patted me on the shoulder and says, you never miss a day for the rest of your life.
And that was the beginning of a journey of teaching, healing and philosophy. I went on to be a scholar in school, I went premed honor. I ended up being a chiropractic because I love the power and philosophy of chiropractic. And it was just the most amazing thing, because it believes the power inside us is what heals
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DEMARTINI: If you're going through life and you want to create an amazing life, you better have a vision that far exceeds that. You want perpetuity, you want a foundation that goes beyond it, you want a vision that goes beyond it. There is an immortal calling in all of us to do something magnificent with our life, that's way bigger than our mortal body can see.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
KING: We're back.
J.Z., can you remove an illness just by thinking about it?
KNIGHT: Yes. I was a heavy smoker, and I was developing emphysema. Most women like to smoke, most people that I knew did. And I went and got a CAT scan, and when I saw the CAT scan of what my lungs were doing, I knew I wasn't going to be alive very much longer.
And so I simply said, I'm going to go live somewhere in my brain where I have always been well. And in that moment, I simply moved what I am to a different neuronet in my brain.
KING: How, Michael, do we form the habits we have?
BECKWITH: Just doing something over and over and over again, oftentimes unconsciously.
KING: But why would we do it, even if we don't like it?
BECKWITH: Well, it goes back to what we were saying at the earlier part of the show. You have genetic programming and then you an environmental influence. So you end up copying what you see around you.
DEMARTINI: And many times the very thing we're doing that we're trying to get rid of, unconsciously, we have associations of benefits. We underlying benefits that we're actually...
KING: How about those thing, though, Bob, like, drug addiction?
PROCTOR: Well, drug addiction is -- it's a habit. And it can be changed. No, it can be changed. Many people change it.
KING: A habit that becomes a need.
PROCTOR: Millions of people change it, so it can be done. Millions don't but there is millions that...
BECKWITH: Individuals that are addicted oftentimes are looking for something that they're finding temporarily, in a counterfeit way, through that drug or through that momentary high. And your brain can produce that without the drug.
PROCTOR: See, I think the problem goes back -- we don't know ourself. We can go right through our educational system, the best schools in the world, and come out and know virtually nothing about ourself.
ASSARAF: There's really two parts of our brain, One is the conscious mind,, which we now know is only responsible for only two to four percent of our behaviors. So we could have the desire, the want, the need, the passion for change, but there's another side of our psyche, the nonconscious mind, that we now know controls 96 to 98 percent of our conditioned way of doing, being, seeing and behaving every single day.
So you can have the desire, but you this program running at a nonconscious level that's going to keep you at your status quo, whether you're a drug addict, whether you're broke. That's why most people, Larry, who win the Lottery, for example, 86 percent of them give away all the money, is because they are conditioned at a nonconscious level to be broke. Their self-image and their self-worth is going to dictate their self-wealth. And that, by the way, I heard from this great guy, John DeMartini. He's absolutely right.
PROCTOR: If we're coaching people to change, we have them in a 13 month program.
KING: Does rehab work?
DEMARTINI: It all depends. I go back to the value system because the hierarchy of one's values dictates their destiny. And so if they have an unconscious motive and unconscious value to continue doing something, all the comments to them really don't mean anything. They have to have an unconscious drive to accomplish what they want to do.
And so what I do, and I have people that are so-called label addicts, I go in there and ask them all the benefits that they're getting out of it and bring the unconscious conscious first. And when they discover 100 benefits that they're unconsciously getting out of being the drug addict, it blows their mind to realize why they're really doing what they're doing.
KING: Michael, what causes relapse?
BECKWITH: Exactly what he's saying here. The benefits, the temporary benefits of getting that momentary high. They haven't yet seen themselves...
KING: You miss it, so you want it?
BECKWITH: They're craving, the body, the mind, the chemicals that are being produced. They don't quite understand that those chemicals, those endorphins can be produced from a sense of connection.
KING: But we're in a drug conscious society. Look at all of the legal drugs to stop your pain, make you feel better, do this, do that.
ASSARAF: Absolutely.
DEMARTINI: A pill for every ill. KING: A pill for every ill.
ASSARAF: We've got the best pharmacy in the world, right here, in our brain.
KNIGHT: It's true.
ASSARAF: No pharmacy can compare with the human mind.
PROCTOR: There's a genius system built within us to keep us in excellent working order if we were to understand it. Understanding is the key.
ASSARAF: We become addicted to the emotions.
KNIGHT: We are addicted to our emotions. That's the greatest addiction there is.
PROCTOR: You did your show a little while ago. I was watching where you had the fellow on that took Proverbs over 31 days.
KING: Yes, Solomon.
PROCTOR: Yes, well. What did Solomon say? He said, in all your getting, get understanding. And the opposite of understanding is doubt and worry. The only way to get understanding is to study, there's no other way to get it.
KING: We'll be right back. And just ahead, what are you doing that prevents your own happiness?
Don't go away.
KNIGHT: So I sort of grew up and I -- knowing every day that if I prayed to God, that everything that I asked for would always get taken care of. I just thought everybody did. As I grew into a mature woman and got married and had children, I just went on my destiny knowing that there was something big could happen in my life.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
KNIGHT: This day I love God. This day, the wisdom and love of God shines through me. It is my reality. I say that all of the time.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
KNIGHT: All these years, it has been to help people to understand, first off, that they're divine, the capacity is inside of them to do marvelous things, are innate in them, that things that happen to them, it is not things happening to them, but the source leaking out of them.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
KNIGHT: All of this, is spiritual because spirit is thought. It's the intangible ghost of reality that reality comes from. (END VIDEO CLIP)
KNIGHT: And in creating your day, the first thing you have to say is, that I'm wonderful, I'm filled with wonder. I am my greatest mystery. And this day what I say will manifest and I will experience the wonder of myself.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
KING: We're back.
What a show tonight. We promise to do more on this.
Let's take another question from our audience. And start with Valerie.
VALERIE: Hi. I'm self-employed and staying focussed and clear- headed about all my goals, both professionally and personally, can be really challenging. What's your advice for staying positive and patient with so much uncertainty in my professional life?
BECKWITH: It comes down to your practice. Everything that we've talked about here, it comes down to the word practice, that you begin to develop the habit of doing something every single day in your life. Describe your life and how it's going to be. Begin to tell yourself that life is for you and not against you. Begin to be aware that there's something trying to emerge through you right now.
Since you are an infinite being and you're here to progress, there is always something trying to emerge for you right now. So you're not sitting around waiting for the New Age. You're on the new edge. Something is trying to happen.
KNIGHT: And you're wonderful. And everything that you think matters. So you're worries matter. So what you have to do, you have to get up, first thing in the morning and create your day, and say this day, I'm a genius. Not only am I a genius, I create a new reality that is fulfilling and without worry. All day long.
BECKWITH: Practice.
KING: OK, another audience question. And this one is from Bonnie.
BONNIE: I's like to know how do you change a negative perception of an aging body and mind into a positive acceptance of the same age and body and mind?
KING: You are what you feel?
DEMARTINI: Well, you know, I think we're blessed because as we mature, our eyesight tends to get a little bit weakened and our hearing tends to go. So I think what the universe has done is make sure that we can't see what we see in the mirror. So the best thing to do is honor your sight as it starts to fade and you can appreciate what it does. No, but every single day it is wise to concentrate on what you do love about yourself, instead of focussing on what you don't.
KNIGHT: May I ask you tomorrow morning, if you want to be 30 years younger, your genes, here everything you say...
BECKWITH: Absolutely.
KNIGHT: ... you have a code for your entire attitude. When you wake up in the morning and decide, today, I am going to be 30 years younger and fabulous. And if you do that, you start creating proteins in your self that replicates that attitude.
KING: Wow.
PROCTOR: Quakers have a saying, pray and move your feet. I think what you've got to do is get out and exercise. I went over to a gym, a guy named Eli Palmer (ph), he took a look at me and he said, you're just going keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger around the waist. And I started to work with the guy, get up at 5:00 in the morning, I'm in the gym at 6:00 in the morning and work for an hour. I taken three inches off my waist.
KING: You're all saying happiness is attainable?
PROCTOR: Absolutely.
BECKWITH: Happiness is the natural state of our being.
KNIGHT: It is a natural state of being, without fear. Without fear.
(CROSSTALK)
ASSARAF: It's not condition based.
DEMARTINI: I think when we're authentic with our true values, we have fulfillment.
KING: One more audience question from Bernie -- Bernie.
BERNIE: Hi.
What is the best way to retain a positive attitude while investing in a volatile stock market?
PROCTOR: Quit investing in the volatile stock market.
KING: Don't do it.
PROCTOR: And don't do it. Change your behavior.
ASSARAF: Even if you're investing in a volatile stock market, you've got to keep one thing in mind, and that's not the stock market. It's your perception of the stock market. There are people who invest in volatile stock markets that don't get affected emotionally by it. BERNIE: Right.
ASSARAF: And so if they don't get emotionally affected by it, then it's not the stock market. It's the individual's perception of the stock market. So when you change the way you look at something, the thing you look at will change.
KNIGHT: Remember, you create reality. You have it in you. Consciousness and energy creates reality. What you think matters. Your opinions help to affect the whole and your eventual outcome in reality.
DEMARTINI: If the stock market goes up, you're paying more dollar per stock share. If it goes down, you're getting it for less. So there's blessings on either side. Knowing that both of them are valuable and staying long-term with it.
KING: I got to get a break.
But Michael, do affirmations work?
BECKWITH: Affirmations definitely work. They help you keep your attention, allowing that kind of energy to flow. They're not going to make something happen, but they make something welcome.
KING: Ahead in our final segment, how you can jumpstart your new life. Stick around for more of LARRY KING LIVE.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
KING: We're back with our final moments with our outstanding panel. We're going to do more of this and we just brought up a good topic.
I just said the air conditioner's not working in here.
BECKWITH: And now it is.
KING: And that bothers me. And you said, live with it. Right?
BECKWITH: No, I said I'm cool. And now it's working.
KNIGHT: We know how to create a reality.
KING: You just got cool.
KNIGHT: Come to class, Larry.
(CROSSTALK)
KING: You've all written books, right?
KNIGHT: Yes.
KING: Is that the best way for anyone watching to jumpstart, read one of the books? I mean, what is -- how do we... PROCTOR: I think the best way to start is get a CD or a DVD and play it over and over and over again.
KING: By one of you?
PROCTOR: Well, the best one -- the best thing I have seen in 45 years, Larry, is the DVD "On the Secret". To get it, go to thesecret.tv. It was made out of Australia. It is the best thing I have ever seen done in this industry.
KNIGHT: I think you would be very simple -- everybody gets up and says, what kind of life I do want from this day forward? And I'm going to write it down and I'm going to say this is who I am.
BECKWITH: Absolutely.
KNIGHT: To say, this is who I am. And negotiate your day through what you said. That's how you start.
ASSARAF: If anybody wants to have more, whether it's a business, whether it's more money, they have to become more. And the only way to do that, OK, first is to educate yourself. And our society has gotten lost in teaching children how to memorize. Education is when we learn something, we get instructions on how to do something, and then we experience it. That's really the education that we want. And so that for me is pick a lane, pick something that you can choose, to move your life forward to the next level.
PROCTOR: There is three of us, Dr. Martini, Michael Beckwith and myself, are going to working together next week -- is it two weeks -- at PSI Seminars. I don't own the company, but it is the best course I've ever seen. And it is all up and down the West Coast, it's in different parts of the world.
KNIGHT: Our course is the best course I've ever seen.
PROCTOR: Well, I think the program that...
DEMARTINI: All of our courses are outstanding.
KNIGHT: All of our courses are fabulous.
DEMARTINI: My mother said to me, when she was putting me to bed when I was four years old, she said, son, before you go in the dream world, be sure to count your blessings, because those who are grateful for that they have, they get more to be grateful for. And I always say that that's the best way to start each day and end this day is in the state of gratitude.
BECKWITH: I'd like to say something about that. I absolutely agree that it's so powerful. The enlightened give thanks for what most people take for granted.
As you begin to be grateful for what most people take for granted, that vibration of gratitude makes you more receptive to good in your life.
KING: J.Z., isn't change the hardest and most feared thing we do?
KNIGHT: It is the most feared thing that we do because we're afraid of reprisal as a result of it. But change is a natural order of our being. We are creating reality every day. We're here to make known the unknown. It is innate in us, it's a part of our mechanism, it's a part of how our brain works. It's what we do best, but it's in a society that doesn't celebrate that.
PROCTOR: And change is inevitable, but personal growth is choice.
(CROSSTALK)
BECKWITH: But we are here to change. We are here to grow, develop and unfold. We are progressive beings that have infinite capacity.
KING: But we all fear it.
(CROSSTALK)
BECKWITH: We do until embrace the fact that we are here to grow. So that you say, how you to jumpstart? You wake up every day and you want to be different at the end of the day. You don't want to be the same person you go to bed at night. You want to have had an insight and a haha, you want to have done a new action. You would have said something new, so that you want to see yourself changing and becoming more yourself on a regular basis.
DEMARTINI: I was -- I had the opportunity to speak for Mary Kay Ash (ph) many years ago. And I had the opportunity to interview and chat with her afterwards. And I said, Mary, if there's any advice you could give me -- I was in my 20s at the time -- for me in my life, what with a you say?
And she said every single morning before you get and start your day, to sit down and write down the seven highest priority actions you could do today, because whoever sets the agenda brings the destiny about. And I started doing that. And I started compiling a list of the things that were truly important to me. And I noticed I increased the probability of those happening in my life just because I concentrated and I took...
KNIGHT: And we do them every day. We do that every day. I do that every morning.
DEMARTINI: At the end of the day, be grate grateful for all the different things that you accomplished. Those two things make a huge difference.
(CROSSTALK)
PROCTOR: ... taught me the same thing. He said six things, same concept.
BECKWITH: Awareness. Awareness. Choice is a function of awareness. And he's just described how you build your awareness.
KING: You have been an outstanding panel. I hope to do this again. I learned a lot of secrets about life here tonight. We hope everybody takes advantage of them.
Our guests have been Bob Proctor, John Assaraf, Michael Beckwith, John Demartini and J.Z. Knight.
And our subject has been "Beyond the Power of Positive Thinking: How to Change Your Life".
We hope we've helped you.
Anderson Cooper is the host of -- "AC 360" is next.
Good night.

說明: CNN LARRY KING LIVE
The Power of Positive Thinking
Aired November 16, 2006 - 21:00 ET
THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
KING: Welcome to the second in our series of how to go beyond the power of positive thinking and use it to change your life.
And, he's the co- author of "Dare to Win, the Power of Focus," and his latest, "The Success Principles, how to get from where you are to where you want to be."
Dr. Joe Vitale is president of Hypnotic Marketing, Inc. and the founder and president of the Hypnotic Marketing Institute. Joe is also an ordained minister, a certified metaphysical practitioner and a certified hypnotherapist.
Dr. George Pratt, chairman of psychology at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California and co-author of "Instant Emotional Healing."
And, finally, Jayne Payne therapist, social worker and licensed chemical dependence counselor.
Is this a constant "I like that, I don't like this, I want this, I don't want that?"
RAY: We are.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
RAY: The universe states, there's a law in your universe that says the more you give the more you get or receive.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
RAY: Every great tradition has told you that you were created in the image and the likeness of the creative source. That means that you have got potential and power to create your world and you are. You are. And maybe you've created things to this point that are wonderful and worthy of you and maybe you haven't.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
KING: Jayne Payne, are you agreeing with what's been said so far?
And then you numb out that little kid inside that says "Wow, I can have everything."
KING: Joe, how do you clear out negative self talk?
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
CANFIELD: Events plus responses equal outcomes and if you don't get the outcomes you want it's because you haven't responded correctly to the events that have occurred up until that time.
My mom and my dad got divorced when I was six and so I settled in Wheeling, West Virginia, grew up in a kind of a normal lower middle class life.
Then you have to be willing to ask yourself, "What am I willing to sacrifice in terms of time, effort, resources, money, et cetera, in order to achieve those goals?"
And it was in Chicago that I met this man named W. Clement Stone, who was a self-made multi-millionaire and he was worth $600 million and he took me under his wing and basically said to me, "If you'll teach these success principles to others, I'll teach them to you."
And that's really what I see, the kind of work I do which is we remove the block so the natural essence of who you are comes forward without effort.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
I live in a $4.5 million mansion. I have a wife to die for. I get to vacation in all the fabulous spots of the world. I have climbed mountains. I have explored. I've been on safaris. And all of this happens and continues to happen because of knowing how to apply the secret.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
KING: We're back with our panel.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
VITALE: When I was in Dallas, and this would have been in the late '70s, I was virtually, I was not virtually, I was homeless for a short period of time.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
VITALE: Well another thing people wonder about is how long is this going to take? How long will it take to manifest the car, the relationship, the money whatever it happens to be?
Well, I don't have any rule book that says it's going to take you 30 minutes or three days or 30 days. I think it's more a matter of you being in alignment with the universe itself.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
KING: We're back on this very special edition of beyond the power of positive thinking.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PAYNE: Relationship addictions are a loss of one's self that occurs when abandonment occurs.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
RAY: How can you ever expect anyone else to enjoy your company if you don't enjoy your own company? And so, again, the Law of Attraction, or the secret is about bringing that into your life. And you've got to get really, really clear.
Here's a question I want to ask you to consider. Do you treat yourself the way that you want other people to treat you?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
KING: We're back.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PRATT: It has been very interesting over the years.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GANFIELD: Decide what you want.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
KING: James Ray, you say gratitude is the most powerful force.

KING: We're back.
Dr. George Pratt and Jayne Payne on "Beyond the Power of Positive Thinking."
We hope you found this show illuminating. We'd love to hear your comments about it.
We thank you for joining us.
